I'm one of those people that over-researches everything, and I'm looking for a website or book that recommends shore excursions based on port? Does anyone know of one? Or does anyone have a lot of opinions about ports of call on a Panama Canal cruise that wouldn't mind random questions?

Tue, May 6, 2008 - 1:23 PMWhat ports are you visiting? I think Cruise Critics has some recommendations. We just finished a PC cruise on Celebrity's Infinity. -

Re: Shore excursion advice....
Wed, May 7, 2008 - 6:51 PMWe did Celebrity's Infinity. Aruba is great to do on your own especially if you can share with orther people. We rented a van and went around the island which is not huge, visiting the lighthouse and the rocks or whatever they call it. In Cartegena, we took the deluxe tour visiting the main fortress, the palace of inquisition and did some shopping . it was only $49 and worth it. Be careful on your own. Bought a 3 minute art masterpiece done on a mirror for only $5, unbelievable. Puerto Caldera: the train ride was so so, river ride good, the size of the crocs very impressive as was the bird life. Great tours inland to the rain forest and volcanos but long and tiresome. Have not been to Nicaragua and PQ Guatamala. Huatulco is a nice unspoiled port with a good beach and restaurants right off the ship. I hope that helps. If you need more let me know.
