I actually prefer the open seating, eat when and where you like. Otherwise I like late seating but my spouse prefers early, so we eat early. Most smaller and luxury ships have open seating as does NCL (Freestyle)and Princess (Personal Choice) on most of their ships.

Tue, May 6, 2008 - 1:29 PMEarly seating was listed as 7PM and late at 9:30PM. When we arrived it was 8PM and 10:30PM due to all the Argentinians aboard that do not eat earlier than 10PM. It worked out OK for us as we had early. 10:30 would have been a disaster.

I sailed with Princess in December and chose the "Anytime Dining" in which we could go to the dining room to eat anytime between 5:30pm and 10pm. I thought it was nice because it allowed us to choose as to whether we ate early in order to make it to a show or whether we wanted to see the show and then go have a nice meal. For myself I feel it is far more relaxing to be able to go eat when I want to and not be assigned a certain time.
